Tolix Chairs

In homage to the French metalworker Xavier Pauchard who is widely credited with bringing the art of galvanizing steel to French industry.
Born in 1880, he set up his first studio in 1905. The ‘Tolix’ name was first registered in 1930, but the first design is said to have appeared in 1934.
Since its creation, the Replica Tolix Chair has been adapted into many forms, including a stool and an armchair.
It can be seen in homes and office spaces the world-over, as well as in popular culture and design magazines.
The range is well-known for its contemporary, industrial style and durability.
Until the 1970s breweries supplied them to cafés and brasseries in return for stocking their brands.
